Job Description:
Red Hat's Subscriber Platform team is seeking an experienced JavaScript engineer to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will maintain and extend our award-winning Customer Portal support interface as well as our internal tools. To be successful, you'll need to think creatively, be highly motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced, distributed environment. Come prepared to work alongside some of the brightest engineers in the open source community.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Provide front-end development to an existing server-side web team that maintains Red Hat's support case management UI
2. Enhance Red Hat's internal support system's UI to ensure that our engineers have robust and responsive tools at their disposal
3. Ensure all browser-based, front-end code is scalable and testable.

Required skills:
1. Extensive experience building web applications using JavaScript and REST services
2. Background with modern client-side application frameworks such as jQuery, jQuery UI, BackboneJS, RequireJS, Karma, and others
3. Experience ensuring quality browser-based code using tools such as JSLint
4. Thorough knowledge of how client applications communicate over HTTP to services located on different web properties
5. Experience contributing to an open source project is desired
6. Ability to use Salesforce.com or JSFis a huge plus
7. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
