Job Summary & Responsibilities

As an Analyst/Developer within Goldman Sachs Asset Management Technology, the successful candidate will be actively involved in key projects and initiatives that impact the GSAM business worldwide. 

Partnering closely with colleagues across technology teams and business users, he/she will focus on ensuring high quality and timely deliverables. The candidate is also expected to have a strong technical background which he/she will effectively leverage in interactions with technology teams spanning globally and in providing support to the GSAM business users based out of Bangalore, Asia, Americas and Europe.

Basic Qualifications

Core Java 
- Experience working on multithreaded applications 
- Experience on Sybase (or other RDBMS) 
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal 
- Be a self-starter and a strong team player 
- Have good problem solving & software design skills 
- Have good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience on web front-end technologies & frameworks like JSP/Servlets, Struts, Spring, XML, Javascript, JQuery 
- Experience on distributed caching/computing, high volume transaction processing environments a plus 
- Prior experience/exposure working in technology projects in financial services an advantage 
- Experience working on ORM tools like Hibernate

About the Job

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for efficient, comprehensive and well documented QA process methodology. The QA engineer will have experience in applying best practices to ensure that the software deployed into production is of the highest quality. The QA engineer will work with the software developers and business systems analyst to devise comprehensive test plans for system, regression and stress tests and where possible automate these tests. The QA engineer is responsible for recording and tracking test results as well as any software defects found in the testing process. In addition to quality assurance the QA engineer will be responsible for ensuring seamless deployment of code from dev to QA and finally into production.

* Perform and participate in all aspects of manual and automated verification. This includes feature and functional testing, unit testing, regression, load and performance testing.
* Provide clear bug and issue descriptions and assist in escalations as needed.
* Create and apply new approaches and concepts to improve the productivity and efficiency of testing practices.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualification

* BS degree in Computer Science or other related fields, with at least 2 – 4 years of experience.
* Experience handling QA applications independently.
* Ability to work with developers to design test criteria and develop test plans.
* Strong understanding of QA life cycle and QA methodologies.
* Basic understanding of Unix.
* SQL knowledge for running queries.
* Strong verbal/written skills.

* Experience in Enterprise products like ERP/CRM.
* Experience with release management tools.
* Automated testing experience.
* Experience with scripting (perl, shell).
